Viana: Citizen engagement in participatory budgeting.
On August 7, the Accountability and Contribution Collection Forum was held in Viana, as part of the process of drawing up the municipality’s participatory budget. The initiative was preceded by consultations in the districts and in Calumbo commune, facilitated by the Angola Scouts Association.
The activity saw the active participation of residents and members of the Community Consultation Council (CAC), who contributed with suggestions and priorities for the budget. The session was also attended by José Tiago, PASCAL’s Focal Point in Luanda. The forum reinforced the local administration’s commitment to transparency and citizen participation, ensuring that the needs of the community are reflected in next year’s budget decisions.
The presence of the population and CAC representatives highlights the ongoing effort to strengthen participatory governance and improve the quality of life in Viana.
